Colon Cancer Check
Ontario has among the highest rates of colorectal cancer in the world. A person with colorectal cancer has a 90% chance of being cured if the cancer is caught early enough through screening. ColonCancerCheck recommends that all Ontarians aged 50 and over be screened for colorectal cancer. For those at average risk for colorectal cancer, a simple at home test—the Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT)—once every two years is recommended.
Ontario Cervical Screening Program
Cervical cancer is almost entirely preventable with regular screening. The Ontario Cervical Screening Program recommends that women who are or have been sexually active have a Pap test every 3 years starting at age 21.
Please talk to your health care provider if you fall under any of the above screening recommendations.

Ontario Breast Screening Program
The Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) is an organized breast screening program that provides high-quality breast cancer screening to two groups of women:
- Average Risk: women aged 50-74 with mammography every two years.
- High Risk: women aged 30 to 69 who are identified as being at high risk for breast cancer with annual mammography and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) screening.
In order to provide our patients with the best possible primary care, our Family Physicians will see patients by booked appointment only. Please call the office at 519-748-6933 to schedule your appointment. As missed appointments contribute to longer wait times, we do require 24-48 hour notice for all appointment cancellations. Missed appointment fees may apply if sufficient notice of cancellation is not given.
For all of our patients, we respectfully ask that you do not use other walk-in clinics. Our physicians are highly available to see urgent matters, either through a same day booked appointment or in our emergency after hours clinic between the hours of 5-8pm, Mon-Fri and 10am-2pm on Saturdays. We do not get any information when you visit other clinics, and that affects your quality of care. In addition, our doctors are billed for every walk-in visit you have outside of our office. Please call the office before 4pm Mon-Fri or between the hours of 9am and 12pm on Saturdays to reserve your urgent appointment.
For prescription renewals, please contact our office to book an appointment. Please be sure to give at least 1 week notice to ensure you do not run out of your medication. If you prefer to have your prescription refill faxed in to your pharmacy, a $30 administration fee will apply.
Did you know that not all services you receive in a doctors office are covered by your OHIP card? Services such as forms, doctors notes, certain vaccinations and drivers medical examinations are some examples of uninsured services. Please call the office to enquire about a complete list of uninsured services.
